Spirit: Connection to the Spiritual World
I’m a Christian. My spirit connects me to God. That means the spiritual world is as much a part of my reality as the physical world I walk in each day. The way I understand the spiritual forces at work in the world shapes how I interpret what other humans in the world do. I see influences on world affairs many of my acquaintances don’t.
Articles I’ve posted under this tab relate to my spiritual life. That does not mean theology, though it serves as a foundation for my faith. I don’t read theology much. Instead I read the Bible, where all the Christian theology Protestants have written starts. I am Protestant. I share a common Christian bond with those of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox faiths.
I’m not fussy about denominational identification. I care about worshipping with other believers whose first loyalty is to Christ and who accept the Bible as their authority for faith and practice. My writing will reflect this perspective. It will mostly be about how my faith is lived out. For those who are curious, I currently am a member of a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, a Reformed denomination which still considers the Bible its authority for faith and life.
Articles under this tab will not usually be devotional or doctrinal in nature. They will normally be about how my faith helps me get through the various trials in my life or about the things I see that that remind me of how God reveals himself in my world as I go about my daily activities. I hope you will come with me on my faith journey and share anything you find helpful with your own online circle of friends.
